Snowden on the Big Screen – Demanufacturing Consent

Guillermo Jimenez of Demanufacturing Consent on BFP and Traces of Reality and I talked about the forthcoming Hollywood adaptation of the story of Edward Snowden.  We looked at Sony’s previous ‘true life’ productions Zero Dark Thirty, Captain Phillips and The Social Network, and how each tells a misleading story that either heroises or covers up the role of the Security State.  We also looked at Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli – the pair who have inherited responsibility for the James Bond film franchise, and their long standing connections to the military-intelligence establishment.  We also touched my previous work on Snowden (here and here) and stuck the boot into the hypocrite huckster that is Glenn Greenwald.

Note: the above is only a preview clip, the full interview is only available for BFP subscribers.
