In this followup to episode 41 Adam from Themes and Memes returned to the show to talk about apocalypse pop culture and apocalyptic thinking more generally. We focused in on the relationship between the Pentagon’s entertainment liaison offices and recent disaster films, particularly those aimed at the conspiracy crowd. We rounded by discussing the film After the Dark, in which a philosophy teacher puts his class through an end of the world thought experiment, asking whether we the general public are being treated just like the students in the film.
