Friend and co-host of the new Lush Future podcast Mike Seman invited me on his show to talk about the mainstreaming of hacker culture. We talked about hacking as a ‘creative engineering’ mindset, how that applies to a much wider range of activities and sub-cultures than is often recognised (including my own work), the documentary Hackers Wanted that explores the story of Adrian Llamo and the cosy relationship between hackers and the military industrial complex, and much more.
We are planning a followup to this conversation as the very end of the discussion failed to record properly, and there are other aspects we wanted to get into. I am already a fan of Mike and Steve’s show and I do recommend it so give it a listen. Meanwhile, Mike will probably be appearing early in the New Year as a guest on ClandesTime, so look out for that too.
