National Security Cinema – Tom Secker on The Shift

Tom Secker 17th July 2017 November 19th, 2019

Doug McKenty of The Shift invited me on his show to talk about my new book National Security Cinema.  We discussed the process by which the CIA and DOD support films, and how this enables them to have considered influence over the scripts, before getting into the issue of how we can best characters this relationship – is it influence or control or manipulation?  We rounded off by looking at some of the reasons to be positive about Hollywood and how it could potentially change in the future and what people can do to encourage that.
