Perhaps the most insidious rewriting of recent history by Hollywood is Zero Dark Thirty‘s narrative that torture helped find Bin Laden.  In this subscribercast I debunk this narrative and examine the fallout from Zero Dark Thirty‘s unique production, from Leon Panetta being accused of leaking classified information, to a CIA officer gifting Kathryn Bigelow a ‘mini Burka wine bottle cover’.  I recount the story of the Inspector General investigations by both the DOD and CIA, and how this resulted in the CIA issuing its first guidelines on interacting with Hollywood.  I round off by looking at what these guidelines imply about the CIA’s ongoing relationship with the entertainment industry.
