On this month’s subscriber-only podcast I examine four very different movies, three with a ‘social action’ or political element and one that defies simple definitions.  They are (1) Just Mercy, a true-life historical drama about a talented African-American lawyer advocating for people on death row, (2) The Man Who Killed Hitler and then The Bigfoot – a surreal adventure film where the premise is in the title, (3) Yes, God, Yes – an expansion of a short film by the same name, this is a satirical coming-of-age comedy set in a Catholic high school in the US, and (4) The Last Narc, a true-crime documentary series about the role of the CIA in the murder of DEA agent Kiki Camarena, which may – just may – have been re-edited at the request of the CIA.

This is quite a broad-ranging episode where I talk about a new campaign to divest Hollywood from the police, Iran-Contra, coronavirus conspiracy theories and religion.  Enjoy!
