On this month’s subscriber-only podcast I break down two recent CIA supported productions codifying their new story of the manhunt for Osama Bin Laden (which is basically their old story, but now the torture program has been forgotten about). First we look at a four-part video series put out by the CIA’s youtube channel, before moving on to the History Channel documentary Revealed: The Hunt for Bin Laden. We examine both of these products, and look at how the CIA’s stories are contradictory, idiotic and make no sense, as well as being fundamentally untrue per their own records of information they had on Abu Ahmad Al Kuwaiti, the courier who led them to the house in Abbottabad in the summer of 2010. I round off by looking at how the CIA’s intelligence ‘failures’ pre-9/11 were repeated in their hunt for Bin Laden, in some cases involving the same analysts and case officers.
