Moonfall is the latest Roland Emmerich disaster movie, and while it isn’t as bad as Don’t Look Up, it isn’t good either, but it does include a strikingly broad range of themes and ideas. Ancient aliens, a hollow moon, a nuclear showdown, artificial intelligence, government cover-up and a rocket taking off through a tsunami are just some of the succulent bounties this film offers. In this subscriber-only episode we analyse Moonfall, and ask whether it was produced by an AI scriptwriting program, and if not, why the hell this movie was made.
