The guys from Fortress on a Hill had me back on to discuss the case of Clint Lorance – an Army lieutenant convicted (then pardoned) of the murder of two Afghan civilians.  We talk about the events themselves, whereby Lorance was in charge of his team for only three days, culminating in the murders, as well as the political pressures surrounding the trial.  The conversation also gets into the documentary series Leavenworth, which is all about the Lorance story, the role of the conservative media in rehabilitating Lorance’s image (and thus the image of the war in Afghanistan as a whole), and the impact of Lorance’s actions on the locals in Afghanistan as well as the men in his unit.
